U.S. public high schools recorded a four-year graduation rate of 83 percent; the state of Michigan is 80 percent. Graduation rates vary greatly by state and race. Nationwide, African American students graduated at a rate of 69%; Hispanics graduated at 73 percent; Caucasians graduated at a rate of 86 percent.
