MENTORING
Through mentoring, young men are taught to live for the life they want, not the path they're on.
RESULTS Mentoring offers an extensive mentoring and monitoring program designed specifically to break young people of bad habits and negative mindsets.
Seeing the need for positive male role models in the community and in neighborhood schools, Charles Thomas, Jr., founded RESULTS Mentoring. Mr. Thomas understood his responsibility to reach out to a group of students who had been previously ignored. He welcomes the challenge of dealing with students that other groups run from.
RESULTS Mentoring offers an extensive mentoring and monitoring program designed specifically to break young people of bad habits and negative mindsets. They are taught to live for the life they want to have, not the path they are on. The supportive, healthy relationships formed between mentors and mentees are both immediate and long-term and contribute to a host of benefits for mentors and mentees.
Our team of certified mentors make an incredible impact in the lives of so many students. Our mentoring discussions are held with our students onsite within the educational facilities that we serve, or at our facility. Mentoring sessions help address the various topics including anger, decision-making, reputation, character, hygiene and more. Our mentors are screened via a rigorous background check that meet state and federal requirements.
In 1999, RESULTS Mentoring started with 15 students in the program. To date, we have served more than 5,000 students; 3,000 in the metropolitan Detroit area.
Highlights from "The Journey"
In collaboration with Connect the Dots, RESULTS Mentoring took more than 40 students on a week-long mentoring trip to Washington DC and New York. Dubbed "The Journey", the trip was a life-altering bonding trip of exposure and sharing.
